A few years ago my favorite doctor said to me, “All women are goddesses.” I had not considered that before, but when I left her office I began to develop a new opinion of myself, and all women. My new appreciation continued when I started beading. I looked at jewelry not only as an adornment but also an expression of that which is unique in each of us.  

When I needed a name for my business I remembered the words of my doctor and poured through a book of mythology, searching for the perfect name.  Saravati is my interpretation of Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom in several Eastern cultures. She invented the arts and is known for purity, truth and creativity. She is often depicted with a strand of pearls in her hand.
