Saravati's Knot ©

The goddess Saraswati was often pictured with a simple string of pearls around her neck. For a modern day Saravati, I designed a simple choker, with a twist. Two lengths of beads are strung and finished and then intertwined in a pure Yin & Yang balance. The result is an interesting twist, or knot.

These necklaces can be made in a variety of beads: amethyst, citrine, jasper, onyx, garnet, lapis, jade, carnelian, to name a few. They can be double strand, quadruple strand or larger, and beads can be of varying shapes and sizes, faceted and smooth, clear, sparkling or matte. Plus, it comes apart! You can purchase two necklaces, providing the clasps are the same, and interchange the colors to match whatever you are wearing. There are four possible combinations.

To tie your Saravati Knot, follow these directions: (click on instruction to see example)

1. Lay the necklace out straight so that the clasp is face up and end to end.

2. Pull one piece of the necklace over the second piece of necklace.

3. Tuck the clasp end of the top piece under the center of the bottom piece and pull the clasp end of the bottom piece over the center of the top piece.

4. Tug gently on the two clasp ends to tighten.

5. Wear
